About us

We maintain an online database of all bovine animals in Great Britain called the Cattle Tracing System (CTS).

Animal keepers use it to report births, deaths and movements of their bovine animals.

Tracing animals helps to control and eradicate bovine diseases such as Tuberculosis (TB), Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) or foot and mouth disease. It protects consumers by making sure that products in the human food chain are safe.
