The Deputy Prime Minister has recorded a video message for World Aids Day.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

World Aids Day - message from the Deputy Prime Minister

In the message, Nick Clegg says:

It’s 30 years since Aids was discovered and huge strides have been made since then.

Never before have we been in this position where we have the potential to turn the tide of the epidemic so it’s right that we celebrate the progress that has been made. But there is still a great deal of work to do.

So today on World Aids Day, let’s wear our ribbons in solidarity with people living with HIV. Let us look back at everything that has been achieved but let’s also be ambitious for the future. Let us set our sights on a world that is free finally from HIV.
