UK represented at the Social Pre-COP in Venezuela
A UK delegation participated in the meetings of the Social Pre-COP held in Margarita from 4 to 7 of November.
A UK delegation took part in the meetings of the Social Pre-COP, which took place in Margarita, Venezuela. The delegations discussed the need to achieve a global climate change agreement in Paris next year.
Ben Lyon, Head of International Negotiations of the Department of Energy and Climate Change and UK’s UNFCCC Negotiator, was accompanied by Ambassador John Saville and Climate Change Officer Samer Yordi from the British Embassy.
The Pre-COP is the preparatory meeting to the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). COP 20 will take place in December this year in Lima, Peru.
