The Parole Board appoints Faith Geary as Interim CEO

Faith Geary is appointed as the Interim Chief Executive Officer for the Parole Board from 1st March 2024.

The Parole Board is proud to announce the appointment of Faith Geary as its interim Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1st, 2024. With an extensive background in law and 24 years of experience within the Civil Service, Faith brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

Having joined the Parole Board in 2015, her leadership as Chief Operating Officer in 2019 solidified her reputation as a strategic thinker and effective collaborator. Faith has led the Board through significant change and growth, working closely with Martin Jones in his role as the previous CEO during key organisational milestones. Whether moving to remote parole reviews during the Covid-19 pandemic or developing important legislation for the parole system more widely, Faith has been instrumental in building the relationships internally and externally to ensure the Parole Board continues to deliver fair decisions efficiently.

Faith’s significant experience in the criminal justice system enables her to leverage her experience and contacts to lead the Parole Board in a period of further growth and development.

Caroline Corby, Chair of the Parole Board, expressed her delight at Faith’s appointment, stating, ‘I am delighted to appoint Faith Geary as the Interim CEO of the Parole Board. Her extensive experience and proven track record in this space make her the ideal candidate to lead us forward.’

As Faith Geary assumes her new role, Lucy Linton-Briggs will take up the role of Interim Chief Operating Officer. Lucy’s previous position was Head of Change where she has led the Parole Board’s work in developing new, more efficient processes and continues to ensure the organisation is continually adapting. Lucy is a passionate advocate for promoting equality and diversity, investing in people, and getting the most out of the available technology.

Faith and Lucy will be working closely with Mike Atkins as the Parole Board’s Director of Legal. Mike has worked with the Parole Board on secondment from GLD (Government Legal Department) for more than 6 years now and is an essential part of the leadership of the organisation. Mike has worked on the continuous development of the Parole Board Rules and will continue to do so alongside overseeing the legal direction of the Board.
