Smoother journeys for A63 drivers

Work will begin next week to improve the road surface along the A63 from Brighton Street to Mytongate Gyratory and on the slip roads at Mount Pleasant Interchange.

Resurfacing and road marking work will take place on the eastbound and westbound carriageways between Brighton Street and Mytongate from 29 September to 14 October, and on the eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Mount Pleasant from 10 to 11 October.

The work will be carried out overnight on Monday to Thursday evenings, between 8pm and 6am. In order to carry out the work it will be necessary to close the A63 eastbound carriageway from Priory Way to Brighton Street, the eastbound and westbound carriageways from Brighton Street to Mytongate Gyratory, and the eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Mount Pleasant Interchange.

During the closures clearly signed diversion routes will be in place and to reduce the need for future closures various routine maintenance operations will also take place within the closures.
