Resurfacing on the A404, High Wycombe/Burchett’s Green

Work to resurface sections of the southbound A404 between High Wycombe and Burchett’s Green will begin overnight on Thursday 20 March, resulting in smoother journeys for drivers.

The work will also involve painting new road markings and installing new studs on the carriageway.

Guy Watts, Highways Agency Project Sponsor said:

Resurfacing the A404 southbound will improve journeys for the thousands of road users who use the road daily. At the same time, we will be painting new road markings and replacing undergound technology which allows us to monitor traffic flows.

We have planned the work to minimise disruption and that is why the resurfacing will take place overnight, when traffic flows are low, and on Monday to Friday nights only. During the closure, drivers will be able to continue their journeys using a clearly signed diversion route.

Work will begin on Thursday 20 March and is expected to be complete by the morning of Saturday 5 April, with work being carried out between 10pm and 6am, Monday to Friday only. During the closure, motorway traffic will be diverted via the M40, M25, M4 and A404(M) with non-motorway traffic diverted via Henley-on-Thames.
