Resurfacing on the A27, East Sussex

Work will take place next week (Wednesday 25 June) to resurface parts of the A27 in East Sussex, resulting in smoother journeys for drivers.

Resurfacing work will take place in stages overnight on the A27 between Middle Farm and Tilton Farm and on the eastern approach to Berwick Roundabout.

Anita Waterton, Highways Agency Project Sponsor said:

The resurfacing work is part of the government’s commitment to maintaining England’s roads and will ensure smoother journeys and maintain safety. We will be resurfacing the A27 in sections and relaying a high friction surface on Berwick Roundabout.

The work has been planned to minimise disruption and that is why work will take place overnight when traffic flows are lowest. Drivers will be able to continue their journeys by following a clearly signed diversion route.

Work will start on Wednesday 25 June for three nights, between 8pm and 6am, with a closure in place on the A27 in both directions between the A26 at Lewes and the A22 at Polegate. Drivers will be diverted via the A26 and A27 and access will be maintained for local residents.
