Public meeting to discuss improvements to A35 Hunters Lodge Junction near Axminster

Members of the public are invited to attend a public meeting held by the Highways Agency to discuss options for improvements to the Hunters Lodge junction on the A35 near Axminster.

Public consultation events are to be held in both Brigham and Broughton village halls on Tuesday (29 July) between 1pm and 8pm to give residents a chance to air their opinions on proposed improvements to the crossroads junction with the A66.

Various possible options for improving the road layout will be displayed, with supplementary information outlining the likely effects of each option, and representatives from the Highways Agency will be available to answer questions.

Jonathan Reade, Project Manager at the Highways Agency, said:

‘We have been talking to the local community over their safety concerns for many months and have kept a completely open mind about the options we could consider.

At Tuesday’s meeting, we will be presenting a list of viable options for improving safety at the junction that are also good value for money. We want local residents to tell us which one they’d prefer so we can start preparing a case for funding.

We’d like to see as many people as possible come along to the events at any time during the afternoon or evening to have their say.
