Public exhibition on improvements to A38/A380 Splatford Split Junction

Members of the public are invited to attend a public exhibition held by the Highways Agency to see plans for improvements to the busy A38 / A380 Splatford Split junction near Exeter.

The exhibition will take place between 4pm and 9pm on Friday August 8 at the Kenn Centre, Kennford where plans will be on display and representatives from the Highways Agency and contractors will be available to answer questions.

The public will be invited to discuss the plans for improvements to the junction which include constructing an additional lane for traffic merging with the A38 from the A380. This will increase the capacity of the roads in this area which suffers from congestion at peak periods.

The improvements will result in improved traffic flow and wider benefits in supporting economic growth in the surrounding area.

These works are part of the national Pinch Point Programme, part of the Government’s growth initiative, outlined during the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement in November 2011.

Highways Agency project sponsor, David Stock, said:

We’ll looking forward to meeting the public and local community to explain these planned improvements at the junction which have been designed to reduce congestion.

This provides us with an opportunity to answer any questions in person that road users or local residents might have.
