Planned roadworks in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, BANES, Wiltshire, West Dorset and Devon: Weekly summary for Monday 24 November – Sunday 30 November 2014

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of the above date but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

Bristol

M4/M49 Junction 22 roundabout: Resurfacing

Full carriageway closure of the M49 northbound and the eastbound and westbound exit slips on M4 Junction 22 will be in place nightly from 8pm Monday 24 November until 6am Friday 28 November. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M4 Junction 19 – 18 Eastbound: Resurfacing

Full carriageway closure including Junction 18 exit slip will be in place nightly from 8pm Thursday 27 November until 6am Saturday 29 November. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

Gloucestershire

M5 Junction 11a – Junction 12: Bridge repairs

Narrow lanes with a width restriction of 5 metres, contraflows and speed restrictions will be in place during the day and occasional slip road and full carriageway closures will take place overnight. Work is expected to continue until January 2015. Full carriageway closure southbound between Junction 11A – 12 from 10pm Friday 28 November until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted From 6am Saturday 29 November through to 8pm Sunday 30 November they will be 2 lanes running northbound and southbound in contraflow on the northbound carriageway. Full carriageway closure southbound between Junction 11A – 12 from 10pm Sunday 30 November until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted

M5 Junction 11 – 10: Bridge repairs

Narrow lanes and 50 mph speed restrictions will be in place until May 2015.

M5 Junction 10: Bridge Repairs

Narrow lanes with 50mph speed restriction on the southbound carriageway will be in place until October 2015.

A40 Longford rbt: Improvements Pinch Point Scheme

Day time lanes closures and narrows lanes at night will take place from Monday 17 November until Mid December.

Wiltshire

A36 Upton Lovell: Improvements

24 hour temporary traffic signals will be in operation until the end of December 2014. Full carriageway closure will take place nightly from 8pm Monday 24 November until 6am Wednesday 26 November. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

M4 Junction 15 westbound entry: Communications

Full closure of slip will be in place from 10pm Friday 28 November until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted.

North Somerset

M5 Junction 21 – 22: Barrier works

Narrow lanes, with two lanes running northbound and southbound with 50mph speed restriction will be in place until late December 2014.

Somerset

M5 between Junction 23 – 24: Structures

Narrow lanes with 50mph speed restrictions will be in place northbound and southbound until mid December as phase 1 of works. Full northbound and southbound carriageway closure, including Junction 24 northbound entry slip road and Junction 23 southbound entry slip road, will be in place from 8pm on Wednesday 26 November until 6am the following morning. Diversion will be clearly signposted. Contingency date of Thursday 27 November in place.

A303 Sparkford to Mere: Resurfacing

Full carriageway, slip road and layby closure will be in place from 8pm until 6am, from Monday 10 November until Saturday 6 December. Lane closures will be in place between 6am and 9pm at the weekends and daytime in the week. The diversion route will be clearly signposted.

Devon (M5 only)

M5 between Junction 28 – 29: Barrier works

24/ 7 hardshoulder and lane 1 will be closed from 6am Monday 24 November until 5pm Friday 19 December.

M5 Junction 27 exit slip: Improvements – Pinch Point

24/7 hardshoulder and lane 1 closed on southbound exit slip from 8pm Sunday 30 November until end of March 2015.
