Mansion House Scholarship Scheme applications open in Chile

As part of the visit by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Mansion House will award a scholarship to a specialist in financial services.

Applications for the Mansion House Scholarship Scheme for future leaders in the financial services sector will be open between 21 March and 8 April 2016. The scheme is addressed at graduates from a reputable local university who want to study or take a training course in a topic related to financial services. This opportunity to study a Master’s Level or equivalent degree at a British university coincides with the visit of the Lord Mayor of the City of London to take place on 29 April.

Applicants looking to apply for the scheme must be graduates with at least a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable local university and they must want to study or take a training course in a topic related to financial services. Applicants planning to attend a British university must study at Master’s Level or equivalent and must have secured their own offer of admission. Similarly, they will be responsible for finding vacancies for courses or business training attachments in the City.

Ideally, applicants should be under the age of 35 although scholarships have been awarded to senior members in the past.

The applications for the Mansion House Scholarship will open on Monday 21 March 2016 and will close on Friday 8 April 2016. The applications will be assessed over the next week where 6 applicants will be selected for an interview. The interview process will take place between the 18 April and 22 April 2016 where candidates will be interviewed by a panel of experts. The results of the interview will then be announced the following week in time to present the winner of the scholarship during the Lord Mayor’s visit on the 29 April 2016 at the British Residence.

The selected scholar for the Mansion House Scholarship will be awarded between £5,000 and £7,000 which will go towards tuition fees and living costs, however this will not cover all costs and therefore all applicants must cover the rest of their costs. The candidates must also have sufficient funds to pay for his or her flights to and from the UK, and a UK student visa.
