Malaysia 'Shopping is GREAT Britain' competition: how to enter

Shoppers in Malaysia have the chance to win a shopping trip to London, as well as other prizes by entering a competition.

The competition is organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. Ray Kyles, Britain’s acting High Commissioner to Malaysia launched the competition on Thursday 18th September..

How to enter

To enter the competition you need to spend RM 250 or more on British brands in 200 participating stores. If you pay using a Standard Chartered credit card you will automatically be entered in to the competition twice.

The competition finishes on 16 November 2014.

Winners will be announced awards ceremony on Saturday 10 January 2015.

One main prize

One person will win a London shopping trip for 2 people and receive:

  • three nights stay in a suite at Holiday Villa Hotel in London
  • two return British Airways economy flights from Kuala Lumpur to London
  • standard chartered debit card with £1,000 cash on the card
  • shopping gift card from Marks & Spencer worth £500

Competition launch

The initiative was launched together with a new reality TV programme “Fit for Fashion”, where the best of British fashion will be showcased. The campaign will highlight Britain’s position at the cutting edge of international fashion and its reputation for trendsetting, innovation, design and creativity.

During the launch, Mr Kyles said

I am constantly reminded about how well regarded the UK is when it comes to global fashion and the impact that British designers and fashion retailers have around the world.

Our track record in fashion really highlights the innovative and unique nature of Britain’s creative industries. The Fit for Fashion series has a unique and entertaining mixture of fashion and fitness and is sure to appeal to many across Asia.

Fit for Fashion TV show

Fit for Fashion, is a 10 episode reality TV series that features the journeys of 12 men and women as they are transformed into fit, stylish and confident individuals. These contestants will face a series of challenges and undergo dramatic stylish transformations with the help of expert fitness and fashion advice from a panel of judges.
