Jordan Green Building Council, Ahel Al Balad, and their supporters launched “Al Balad Natheefa Bi Ahlha” antilittering project, supported by the British Embassy, on Monday 6 January 2014.

The launch was held in presence of the British Ambassador to Jordan Peter Millett and the Mayor of The Amman Greater Municipality Aqel Biltaji.

On this occasion, Ambassador Millett said: “I am happy to support this important campaign which will try to reduce the amount of litter in Jordan. I have visited many parts of this beautiful country and have often been distressed at the amount of litter on the streets and in the countryside. This campaign, designed and implemented by Jordanians, aims to make people aware that every individual has a personal responsibility in keeping Jordan clean. Every individual also has an interest in keeping Jordan clean. It is good for people’s dignity. It is good for their health. And it is good for their pockets because tourists prefer to see a country that looks after its beauty spots.”
