London South Bank University partners with IST College in first UK-Greece college collaboration

On Wednesday, 20 November 2013 UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Greece helped launch the collaboration between London South Bank University (LSBU) and IST College (Independent Science and Technology College). The collaboration will consist of new MBA aimed at providing a high-level management qualification to individuals with prior professional experience. Education is one of the UK’s top exports generating over £17.5 billion towards the country’s economy in 2011. Higher education and vocational training are integral parts of economic and business development and are recognised as such by the UK government. UK educational institutions are encouraged to initiate and develop overseas partnerships and promote British educational excellence. UKTI Greece welcomes all business initiatives aimed at presenting distinguished British services to the Greek market and showcasing the very best of what Britain has to offer.

Launch event

LSBU is one of London’s largest and oldest universities and has been providing students with accredited, professionally-relevant education since 1892. The collaboration between these 2 institutions underlines their commitment to and excellence in providing innovative and effective courses in a wide range of corporate and management training. Both IST and LSBU are known to have strong links with employers through their alumni and professors, who actively contribute in the course and act as liaisons between course participants and the business community. The event was well attended and UKTI offered its valuable contacts and expertise in ensuring the presence of a number of HR representatives from companies active in Greece to whom the particular MBA may be of particular interest.
