On Tuesday 5 November, Ambassador Jon Benjamin opened the British Month with a traditional county fair offering the best of traditional British festival attractions, including jugglers, flamethrowers, live music and games. British Month will run throughout November, giving the Chilean public an opportunity to discover the best of the United Kingdom.

The “Great County Fair” hosted at the residence recreated a very traditional kind of celebration which regularly brings communities together in the United Kingdom. On this occasion, guests were invited to enjoy an attractive exhibition showcasing a range of products by 25 leading British brands.

Several of the stands offered typical British games with prizes for the lucky winners: visitors could demonstrate their angling skills by fishing out floating mugs in the Whittard fishing game, throwing Loake shoes in the shoe throwing game, trying their luck on the Lush wheel of fortune and having a go on the Triumph motorcycle simulator. Virgin Mobile delighted the crowd with a photo booth where guests could take instant photographs of themselves. There was also table football, pinball games, a mechanical bull and the classic merry-go-round.

Other brands represented at the event were: Twinings, Aston Martin, Dyson, Fullers, Heatholders, Kenwood, Mini, Waitrose, Walkers, Function One, Across Research, Maximizer Software Ltd, Tudor Exports, Costwold Fayre, Niftylift, Coast, Kingston Smith, Britvic International Ltd, French Connection and P&G Financial Services.

This memorable and fun event to mark the launch of British Month was attended by over 500 guests, including business sector representatives, politicians, celebrities and media.
