British Navy ship HMS Middleton has arrived at RAK port yesterday where it stays for two days. His Highness Sheikh Ahmad bin Saqr al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), visited the ship where he was warmly welcomed by the captain of the ship Lieutenant Commander Anthony Pimm. The different teams on the ship explained to His Highness the capabilities of the ship and its role in securing the region and mine hunting. This is the first visit for a British military ship to RAK port in five years.
The captain of the ship Lieutenant Commander Anthony Pimm said:
HMS Middleton is one of 6 military ships that are based in the region permanently. It’s an honour and pleasure to visit the UAE and RAK specifically. Our ship has exceptional capabilities in minehunting. We have highly-trained and highly-skilled personnel to do this

It was an honour to welcome HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), on board HMS Middleton yesterday. This was the first such visit to a port in the Emirate for five years and is another example of the strong relationship that exists between the UK and UAE.
