The captain of the ship Lieutenant Commander Anthony Pimm said:
HMS Middleton is one of 6 military ships that are based in the region permanently. It’s an honour and pleasure to visit the UAE and RAK specifically. Our ship has exceptional capabilities in minehunting. We have highly-trained and highly-skilled personnel to do this

This was the first such visit to a port in the Emirate for five years and is another example of the strong relationship that exists between the UK and UAE.
