Scottish Secretary welcomes announcement of daily flights between Edinburgh and Philadelphia.
News that US Airways will begin daily flights between Edinburgh and Philadelphia next May was today welcomed by Scottish Secretary Alistair Carmichael.
He said:
The addition of another direct flight between Edinburgh and the United States is great news for business and leisure travellers on both sides of Atlantic and another encouraging sign for the Scottish economy.
The UK Government is making it a priority to push for a US-EU trade deal which would be worth up to £10 billion to the UK economy. Together with our extensive diplomatic, consular and trade network across the US we can ensure that Scotland can make the most of the opportunities that announcements like today’s will bring.
