British Consul General condemns burning of church in Jerusalem

Commenting on the burning of a Greek Orthodox seminary in the Old City of Jerusalem, Dr. Alastair McPhail, British Consul General, said:

I was horrified to hear of the unacceptable burning of the Greek Orthodox seminary in Jerusalem this morning. This is the second attack on a place of worship in as many days. The followers of Jerusalem’s three monotheistic religions deserve the right to worship freely in safety and security. It is vital that the people responsible for this crime are held accountable. The UK urges leaders on all sides to increase efforts to reduce tensions and promote calm.
