2016 MER UK Awards now open

Nominations have opened today for the Oil & Gas UK Awards where OGA will present, for a second time, the MER UK Awards to recognise innovative and sustainable ways to maximise economic recovery from the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).

The Oil & Gas Authority launched a new website on 3 October 2016 to reflect its new status as a government company.

This formalises the transfer of the Secretary of State’s regulatory powers in respect of oil and gas to the OGA, and grants it new powers. This website will no longer be updated. Visitors should refer to www.ogauthority.co.uk

Awards winners

Andy Samuel, chief executive of the OGA, said: “Last year we were delighted to have a very strong category for the inaugural MER UK Awards with great examples of companies pioneering new, more collaborative ways of working.

“We selected four very deserving winners and I look forward to recognising and sharing more tangible examples of good practices and sustainable behavioural change from across the UKCS in support of delivering MER UK.”

Further information

  • Candidates must be currently active on the UKCS and be able to describe positive collaboration. Entries are welcomed from operators and service companies both large and small.
  • The Awards which will take place at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday 3 November. Nominations close on August 19th 2016.
  • Last year’s MER UK Award winners were; Nexen, Northern North Sea Operational Gas Group, Centrica, Total and Dong.
