UK Neuro Forum
The UK Neuro Forum informs policy to help ensure that people in the UK with neurological conditions can access the right services and support.
The UK Neuro Forum is an advisory body. It is a joint forum between:
- Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) (the secretariat)
- devolved governments
- Neurological Alliance
- NHS England
Group members meet twice a year (in winter and summer). The forum’s main objectives are to:
- bring key stakeholders together and share learning between nations
- discuss relevant service transformation and workforce challenges
- share best-practice examples
- explore research needs and potential improvements to help inform policy
Participants
Participants are as follows:
- representatives from the Long-Term Conditions team, DHSC
- National Clinical Director for Neurology, NHS England
- a representative from the Neurology Transformation Programme, NHS England
- President of the Association of British Neurologists
- representatives from the Stroke, Post Acute Infection Illness, Neurological Conditions and Frailty team, Welsh Government
- Clinical Lead for Neurology, NHS Wales Performance and Improvement
- representatives from the National Clinical Network for Neurological Conditions, NHS Wales Performance and Improvement
- representatives from the Neurological Conditions team, Scottish Government
- Clinical Lead for Neurology, Scottish Government
- representatives from the Neurology Policy team, Department of Health Northern Ireland
- a representative from the Neurology Commissioning team, Department of Health Northern Ireland
- representatives from neurological alliances across the UK including:
- Northern Ireland Neurological Charities Alliance
- Neurological Alliance
- Neurological Alliance of Scotland
- Wales Neurological Alliance
