Supported Housing Advisory Panel

Under the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023 (the Act), the government has established the Supported Housing Advisory Panel (the panel). This panel will play a key role in providing valuable information and expert advice relating to supported exempt accommodation.

Context 

The Act received Royal Assent on 29 June 2023. As part of its provisions, the Secretary of State is required to establish a Supported Housing Advisory Panel. The panel was formally established on 12 February 2026 marking an important step in implementing the measures set out in the Act. 

Purpose 

The panel’s purpose is to offer insight, guidance, and advice to government on matters connected with supported housing. This includes advising on the implementation of the Act and helping to address current and emerging issues within supported housing.  

In addition, the Chair will regularly review the panel’s effectiveness and the performance of its members, ensuring the panel continues to deliver meaningful impact. 

Membership 

The Chair has been appointed for an 18 month term, and panel members have been appointed for 5 years. The panel consists of:
