Robotics Advisory Group

The Robotics Advisory Group (RAG) is an expert advisory body established by DSIT to provide independent, expert advice to inform government on robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) policy.

The government’s Modern Industrial Strategy outlined how technologies such as robotics are supporting innovation and economic growth. The RAG is an informal advisory group set up to provide insights and constructive challenge from across the robotics ecosystem to government.

This will include:

  • advising on government robotics policy and strategic direction including related programmes of activity
  • providing sectoral and technical insights, including authoring papers, undertaking research, and engaging with stakeholders
  • championing openness and evidence-based decision making

Membership consists of individuals who have a strong background in robotics and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by the UK’s robotics sector. The group is broadly represented with members from across academia, industry, trade bodies and end-user organisations.
