Purpose

The Group was supported by a Secretariat overseen by the Deputy Director for European Programmes in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Given the sensitive nature of some of the issues that might be discussed, the content of discussion remained confidential.

Membership

The Steering Group membership was drawn from across the R&D sector and includes UKRI, and key stakeholders selected for their experience of the research and innovation sector and their knowledge of the issues around people, culture, and talent that the strategy will address.

Attendance by substitutes will not normally be allowed except where:

  • the member is unable to avoid being absent from the meeting
  • that absence would significantly affect the quality of the discussion
