Rail Engagement Group

The Rail Engagement Group provides an opportunity for senior representatives from the Department for Transport, rail industry and trade unions to discuss strategic issues facing the railway.

The government made a manifesto commitment to reset industrial relations and improve partnership working between the government, the rail industry and trade unions that represent rail workers. This is particularly important as we move towards establishing Great British Railways (GBR).

The government has, therefore, established the Rail Engagement Group to provide the opportunity for senior representatives from the Department for Transport, the rail industry and trade unions to come together to discuss the key strategic issues facing the railway.
