Government distributed ledger community
This cross-government community is for anyone interested in public service applications of blockchain and wider distributed ledger technologies (DLT).
Role
Established in response to the UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser’s 2016 review of distributed ledger technology, the government DLT community shares technical and strategic knowledge and experience.
This community also:
- promotes awareness and understanding of the potential of DLT in the public sector
- provides independent advice on the feasibility of specific uses of DLT within the public sector
- builds connections with academia and industry

Anyone working in the public sector can join the DLT community mailing list. People outside the public sector can email the group at gov-dlt-community@digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk.
The community also hosts regular events, including talks from academics and startups. These are announced on the DLT community mailing list.
