In March 2015 the Government published the Business Visits and Events Strategy. One of the key commitments within this was to create an Events Industry Board to work with Government on fulfilling the commitments within the strategy. The Events Industry Board will be an industry-led board composed of individuals and representative organisations from the Events industry.
Role of the group
The Board will focus on:
- Implementing the Business Visits and Events Strategy;
- Looking for ways to improve and promote the UK Events sector
- Acting as a sounding board and point of dialogue between Ministers and the industry
The Board has set up two working groups looking at Talent and Connectivity/Infrastructure.
The Talent Taskforce, led by Sarah Wright, has recently launched a survey looking at how to attract, grow and retain talent in the UK Events Industry. You can access the survey here. Deadline is 3rd September.
