Call for evidence description

The Trade and Agriculture Commission (TAC) seeks submissions on whether provisions in the UK-New Zealand FTA that relate to trade in agricultural products may affect the maintenance of UK regulatory standards in relation to (any of the following):

  • animal or plant life or health
  • animal welfare
  • environmental protection

In particular, the TAC seeks submissions regarding differences between the relevant standards applicable to activities in New Zealand and the UK.

In accordance with the TAC’s terms of reference, submissions should not address human food safety, as this is covered by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Submissions should be:

  • submitted as a Microsoft Word document
  • no longer than two pages in length (using Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and margins of 2.54cm)

Submissions may be cited by the TAC in its advice. If you would like all or part of your submission to be treated as confidential, please contact the TAC secretariat on TACsecretariat@trade.gov.uk. The TAC has full discretion to decide on the relevance of submissions.
