Consultation description

The Office of Rail and Road is seeking views on a suite of new guides to replace the old single guidance document on the Train Driving Licences and Certificates Regulations 2010.

The aim is to target the guides at different people with duties under the regulations to make it easier to find topics. We have also produced expanded guidance on the process we follow when considering the suspension or withdrawal of a licence.

This consultation covers 3 new guides and a key facts leaflet:

  • a guide for train operators
  • a guide to the medical and occupational psychological fitness requirements
  • a guide to the training and examination requirements
  • a key facts leaflet for train drivers.
