DBT national survey of registered businesses’ exporting behaviours, attitudes and needs

The annual NSRB provides insights on UK companies’ views of exporting, including perceptions around trade barriers.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) national survey of registered businesses (NSRB):

  • measures UK businesses’ self-reported exporting behaviours, plans and attitudes
  • provides insights into their perceptions around barriers to exporting

The survey data provides valuable information that allows for a better understanding of any changes over time in these behaviours, plans and attitudes among UK firms. The NSRB also looks at the factors which businesses say:

  • inhibit them from exporting
  • they need support on to start exporting more

In addition, the survey data serves to inform the ongoing design and media planning of the Exporting is GREAT marketing campaign.
