Working in strategy and policy for Monitor
Suzie Bailey gives an insight into her role as Development Director, Sector Development: Strategy and Policy.
Why did you join Monitor?
I joined Monitor after completion of my fellowship in leading quality improvement with the Health Foundation and having worked as Service Improvement Director at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS FT for 4 years. Having worked as an operational leader in the NHS for many years and then in leading improvement in a large acute and community provider, I felt it was a good time to bring this experience to a national role when Monitor was demonstrating commitment to supporting providers to build capability for improvement.
What do you enjoy about working here?
Monitor is a dynamic organisation with a workforce committed to improving care for patients. I enjoy the intellectual challenge of working at a national level and the collaborative working this requires.
