Fife’s regeneration boosted by £19.4 million investment (Levelling Up Fund 2)

Fife Council has been allocated £19.4 million from the Levelling Up Fund to support regeneration in Glenrothes and Leven. This funding will help deliver an ambitious long-distance footpath connecting Loch Leven, Kinross and Levenmouth.

Glenrothes Riverside Park

Plans to renovate Riverside Park aim to increase tourism and draw more interest to the area. The park already boasts numerous attractive features, and these renovations aim to enhance its appeal to both residents and tourists.

Improvements will include:

  • an enhanced accessible link to the Fife Pilgrim’s Way
  • a new transport hub with electric charging
  • improved access throughout the park
  • enhanced park entrances
  • an information hub
  • bicycle hire

Leven Connectivity Project

The River Leven sits at the centre of regeneration in Fife. The project will provide safe, high-quality green space for local residents. It will allow the local community to access the River Leven and support the re-opening of the Leven Rail Link.

Funding will help create:

  • 5km of new paths along the river
  • 30km of new accessible pathways between towns
