£19.9 million to Transform Twycross Zoo

£19.9 million has been allocated to Twycross Zoo to create a world-class National Science and Conservation Centre (NSCC).

The National Science and Conservation Centre

Funding plans include:

  • a purpose-built centre for researchers to study the four great apes and other species
  • accommodation for visiting conservation experts and specialists
  • a state-of-the-art conference venue
  • teaching and research facilities

The planned work at the centre will focus on:

  • animal welfare
  • conservation
  • biosciences
