A UK General Election has been called for 4 July 2024.
If you live in England, Wales or Scotland
If you want to apply for a postal vote, you must get your postal vote application to your local Electoral Registration Office by 5pm on 19 June 2024.
If you live in Northern Ireland
It is no longer possible to apply for a postal vote for the General Election on 4 July 2024.
You can apply for an emergency postal or proxy vote by post if you have a medical condition that could not have been foreseen before 14 June 2024, or because you are employed to deliver the election.
An application for an emergency proxy vote arrangement must reach the Electoral Office by 5pm on 26 June 2024.
You can vote by post if you don’t want to vote in person at a polling station.
Send the completed form to your local Electoral Registration Office.

If you are registered to vote and want to vote by proxy in the 5 May 2022 elections, you must submit a proxy vote application form that is received by your local Electoral Registration Office before 5pm on Tuesday 26 April 2022.

If you are registered to vote in Scotland, you are no longer able to apply for a postal vote for the elections on 6 May 2021. You can still apply for a proxy vote.
