Making a consular appointment

Our embassies and consulates deal with a large number of urgent cases each year. Before contacting an embassy or consulate with non-urgent enquiries, read our Support for British nationals abroad: a guide to see if the information you need is there. If you still cannot find the information you need, you can contact your nearest Consular team.

For legalisation and notarial services, you can only make an appointment after completing our normal procedure.

Disabled access

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and this embassy are keen to ensure that their buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public. Wherever possible, we have made our buildings and services accessible. Sometimes however, this is not possible due to security or other restrictions. In these situations we will endeavour to provide a service or access to a building in an alternative way to ensure equality of access for disabled people. To assist disabled visitors, we have set out below details of disabled access at this embassy. We hope this information is helpful.

General physical access

There is clear, unobstructed access for vehicles to the front of the premises, but there are no curb ramps graded down from the sidewalks into the entrance pathway to the premises. Duty guards can provide assistance.

  • there are ramps with handrails inside the premises to access to the ground floor of the building
  • lifts are not available
  • toilets: there’s a disabled toilet on the ground floor
  • or security reasons, there is no parking available outside the premises, but there is space for wheelchair transfer at the drop off area
  • floor coverings are safe and even
  • the building doors are easily accessible to all users
  • all areas of the building are well lit
  • there is limited assistance for emergency evacuation of disabled visitors. In the event of an emergency, occupants must use the stairs to evacuate the building

Access for visually-impaired visitors

  • signs to the offices are clear, but not available in braille
  • guide dogs would be permitted into the premises

Access for deaf/hard of hearing visitors

  • a hearing loop is installed in the Consulate’s consular section, but not in other parts of the building
  • Consulate staff are not trained in sign language and professional signing interpretation is not available
  • hearing dogs would be permitted into the building

Contact us

If you need to visit us or use our services and feel that they may be inaccessible to you, please contact the Corporate Services Officer Telephone: +84 (0)28 3825 1380 who will try to find an alternative way of providing access for you.
