This independent review examines the strategic priorities for the development of women’s football, and reports on the future direction of the women’s game.
The Fan-Led Review of Football Governance (published November 2021) recommended that there should be a dedicated review into the future of women’s football, to explore the unique circumstances and opportunities for the women’s game.
In September 2022, the government launched this review of the future of women’s football, chaired by former Lioness Karen Carney.
The review’s terms of reference and call for evidence were published in September 2022.
