1. MOT tester eligibility
You must have an accepted qualification or accreditation if you want to become an MOT tester and test class 3, 4, 5 or 7 vehicles (cars, private buses and light commercial vehicles).
This is the full list of qualifications and accreditations that are accepted.
Read the most commonly accepted qualifications and find out how to become an MOT tester.
Check with an MOT training provider if you’re not sure if your qualification is acceptable.
