Langport Range and dry training area firing notice May 2024

Please be aware that short notice changes may be made to the firing schedule.

Live firing (rifle shooting)

There will be live firing on:

No live firing, range temporarily closed

Firing usually happens between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Night live firing is not permitted on this range.

Dry training

Dry training at Breech Wood involves blank ammunition, pyrotechnics and vehicles during the following days:

No dry training, range temporarily closed

Dry military training is permitted at all times of day and night, all year round. The use of blank ammunition and pyrotechnics is only permitted during the following periods:

Weekdays: 7.30am to 11pm
Saturdays: 7.30am to 10pm
Sundays: 10am to 9pm

It is to be noted that military helicopters may operate within the site at any time of day or night.

Your safety

Please ensure you adhere to all MOD warning signs and red flags, which indicate that live firing is taking place within the Range Danger Area.

If the red flags and/or lights are hoisted, regardless of the timings or published dates, do not enter the Range Danger Area as there is a danger to life.
