Imports of glass fibre fabrics, originating in the People’s Republic of China and Egypt (Anti-Dumping Duty 2325)

The Commission announced an investigation in the Official Journal ref. C68 dated 21 February 2019, concerning imports of fabrics of woven or stitched or woven and stitched continuous filament glass fibre rovings or yarns, originating in the People’s Republic of China and Egypt.

For information only, these goods currently fall within taric codes:

  • 7019 3900 80
  • 7019 4000 80
  • 7019 5900 80
  • 7019 9000 80

Exclusions are:

  • products impregnated or pre-pregnated (‘pre-preg’)
  • open mesh fabrics with cells with a size of more than 1.8 mm in both length and width and weighing more than 35 grams per square metre.

This investigation and any measures imposed will be subject to the amended rules for anti-dumping duty as detailed in Regulation (EU) 2018/825. In particular please note:

  • investigation period is shortened to 13 to 14 months
  • any provisional duty to be imposed no later than 7 to 8 months from initiation
  • new procedures and timescales for interested parties to request information and make comment
