Imports of certain polyvinyl alcohols (PVA) from the People’s Republic of China (Anti-Dumping Duty 2347)

The Commission has announced the initiation of an investigation, in the Official Journal ref 2019/C256 dated 30 July 2019, concerning the dumping of polyvinyl alcohols (PVA), originating in the People’s Republic of China.

Product description under investigation:

  • PVA in the form of homopolymer resins
  • with a viscosity (measured in 4% solution) of 3 mPas or more but not exceeding 61 mPas
  • a degree of hydrolysis of 80.0 mol% or more but not exceeding 99.9 mol%

This investigation could result in Anti-Dumping Duty being imposed at a future date.

The investigation takes effect from 30 July 2019.

Interested parties wishing to make submission or requests to be heard (within the short timescales) should refer to the Commission’s notice, for instructions.

Interested parties may request in writing (within 4 months of the publication of this notice) information on the imposition of provisional measures.

Provisional measures may be imposed no later than 8 months from the publication date.

The Commission will provide information on planned provisional duties 3 weeks before their imposition.

This investigation will be concluded no later than 14 months from the publication date.
