The Department for Transport (DfT) has analysed the 6 responses we received to this consultation. We have included a summary of this feedback alongside DfT’s conclusions in our ‘Consultation summary and government’s response’. This document informs consultees of our decision to publish future editions of the ‘In service exhaust emission standards for road vehicles’ every 2 years instead of annually.

Consultation description

The Department for Transport is seeking views on a proposed 18th edition of the ‘In service exhaust emission standards for road vehicles’ booklet. This edition takes account of new vehicles to come to market since publication of the previous booklet in May 2013 and make corrects earlier data.

The booklet is used by garages undertaking MOT tests, and DVSA at roadside tests of vehicles. It provides model-specific data on emissions performance of most vehicles within scope of the MOT test.
