The CMA has accepted a variation of commitments that address the CMA’s competition concerns regarding Meta’s use of data obtained through digital display advertising.
The Committee has received evidence from Facebook, Google, and Twitter as part of its review on the subject of the intimidation of Parliamentary candidates.
Following CMA action, Meta will no longer be able to use certain data obtained from competing businesses that advertise on its platforms to gain an unfair advantage.
The CMA has secured commitments from 2 of the largest digital players, Amazon and Meta, in 2 separate cases, benefitting sellers and customers by ensuring fair competition on their retail platforms.
