The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the basic insulation is touching the metal enclosure and the base cover material is removable by hand, giving users easy access to the basic insulation. The creepage distance between live and neutral on the control PCB tracks were found to be 1.9mm, below the minimum of 2.5mm. Also, the supply cord is tied in a knot internally for cord anchorage, which is not deemed a suitable method. The product did not contain a marking label and no user instructions were provided.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
