Details

This guide’s aims are to:

  • provide a transparent approach to decision making
  • help panels reach a proportionate, consistent and fair approach to sanctions
  • give approved inspectors clarity about the types of sanctions which may be imposed

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the designated body to approve inspectors in England and Wales from 5 April 2024, replacing the Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR). This designation ends on 1 October 2024.

All references in the documents to CICAIR should be read as HSE.
