Emily Summers
Biography
Emily Summers joined the British High Commission team in June 2017.
Before Botswana Emily was part of the Political Team at the British High Commission in Dhaka (July 2014 to May 2017) and Private Secretary to the Chief Operating Officer at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in London (March 2013 to March 2014). In her earlier career Emily worked on a range of policy areas, including North Africa, multilateral human rights and consular.
Prior to joining the Diplomatic Service, Emily worked in local government and before that the NGO sector. She holds a BSC Hons degree from the Open University in Social Sciences and speaks passable Bengali and a little French, Spanish and Italian.
