Professor David Walker
Biography
Professor David Walker took up the position of Medical Director at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust on 5 January 2015.
Hi was previously the deputy Chief Medical Officer for England.
He has also held posts as the Regional Director of Public Health for the Midlands and the East of England. He has been an Executive Director in the NHS for the last 12 years.
David holds a number of academic appointments and was formerly a visiting scientist at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He has published widely in the fields of health protection and disease surveillance methodology. He is presently the chair of the UK National Screening Committee.
