Richard Bond

Biography

Richard Bond joined the Coal Authority in September 2017.

Over the past 30 years he has primarily worked in the commercial sector concentrating on working in newly emerging fields, and development and integration projects.

He has previously worked as a commercial analyst for Tesco PLC and served on the boards of Center Parcs UK Ltd and Jamie Hempsall Ltd.

Richard is a Chartered Management Accountant and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Over the past 20 years, Richard has taken on voluntary strategic and operational roles including developing and chairing for eight years a sector-changing National Volunteer Forum for Macmillan Cancer Support. He is currently Vice Chair for New Perspectives Theatre Company.

Innovation and Services Director

The Innovation and Services Director is responsible for:

  • leading the adoption of mine water heat as a low carbon heat source across the coalfields of Great Britain
  • strategic development of all value generating reports, products and advisory services
  • strategic leadership of innovation and heat projects
  • customer strategy and insights
