Abstract

In response to a request from the MoT in Vietnam, this project monitored the performance of the various surfacing technologies on the RRST (Rural road surfacing trial) roads, and evaluated and updated the corresponding performance and cost models, guidelines and documents. This presentation examines the deterioration characteristics of the surfacing options in order to establish their Whole Life Costs and also to define the limits of their appropriate usage.
