The product poses a serious chemical risk as the black material of the hopper exceed the phthalates limits. The plastic material from the hopper contains 42.04 +/- 2.56% DIBP (Diisobutyl phthalate) and therefore exceeds the specified maximum limit of 0.1% by mass of the plasticised material. Phthalates can potentially harm children’s health either via cancer or non-cancer effect and may cause the child to have long term health implications.
The product does not meet the requirements of the REACH Enforcement Regulations 2008 and of The Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
