Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the earthing arrangements are insufficient, which can allow accessible metal parts of the product to become live. If the consumer were to touch accessible metal parts, they would receive an electric shock. The cords were also insufficiently anchored, and could detach from the product, exposing live wiring.
The plug supplied with the product was a clover leaf-style plug which is noncompliant; the pins are too close to the edge of the plug, meaning users can access live parts when unplugging, or plugging in, the plug from the socket. The product also required improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
