Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as the product’s fuse is inadequate. Under fault conditions, this could cause the user to experience an electric shock or experience injuries should the fuse explode. The plug face did not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 as the distance between the outside edge and the neutral pin was insufficient, allowing the user to access live parts when plugging in, and unplugging, the plug from a socket. The battery was only able to reach 51.2% of its stated capacity.
Improvements are also required to the product’s labelling, marking and documentation. The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
